Instructional Design & Technical Writing Consultant (6/2006 - present)

Design and develop online continuing education e-learning modules, online training (OLT), instructor-led training (ILT), software demos, marketing videos, online college courses, user manuals, help systems, and other training materials.     • hhgregg. Used Captivate to design and develop “PC Optimization” OLT for retail sales staff. 2010.

      • "Change Management" ILT. Revised classroom ILT PowerPoint for online instructor-led delivery via GoToMeeting. 2009.
      • "MGPS" ILT. Designed and developed ILT for users and administrators of the Motorola Global Pricing System (Mobile Devices division). 2008-2009.
      • "Basic Statistics" OLT. Converted ILT to OLT using Articulate and Captivate. The 8-hour course is part of Motorola's Digital Six Sigma certification curriculum and Quality IQ program. 2008.
      • "Customer Satisfaction" OLT. Converted ILT to OLT using Articulate. The 4-hour course was developed with the Integrated Supply Chain team for Motorola's Quality IQ program. 2008.
      • "Minitab" OLT. Updated existing PowerPoint training modules to accommodate new version of Minitab statistics software. Used Captivate to develop demos for Relex iArchitect, a Web-based analysis tool. Ensured accuracy of screen shots and instructional content. 2007-2008.
  • Agate Publishing, Inc. (ProBooks division) (1/2011–3/2012). Designed and wrote online college course assignments and test items for various educational publishing clients.
  • Technotribe Communications (8/2009–1/2010). Clients/projects:
    • Adura Technologies (acquired by Acuity Brands). Designed and developed ILT for software used to design/deploy/monitor wireless lighting systems.
  • Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (9/2006–1/2007). Designed and developed OLT and ILT for continuing education courses geared toward architects and engineers. Topics: Pre-cast 101, Housing, Sustainability (Green Building Design & LEED Certification).

    Promotional site for Dave Cloud, Nashville-based rock musician and performer. Site was instrumental in securing a recording contract for Cloud. 2004–2016.

  • Wards. Created wireframes, designed user interfaces, and wrote EPSS content for touch-screen point-of-sale system; conducted usability tests.

Managed educational resources for professional psychoanalytic training program and public education program including an audiotape publishing/mail-order department. Produced, edited, and published over 500 psychology audiotape titles by internationally known speakers—improving sound quality, program content, packaging, and distribution.
